NWA: All-Star Wrestling

Mauro Ranallo, who went on to become a radio announcer for Abbotsford station CFVR (now CKQC-FM) and the TV play-by-play announcer for Pride Fighting Championships, Stampede Wrestling, King of the Cage and KVOS-TV's NWA Top Ranked Wrestling, got his start as an on-camera personality with All Star Wrestling while still in his teens, late in the show's run.

Ron Morrier was the original host of the TV show and served in that capacity until his death on August 6, 1981; after that, former CFUN disk jockey Ed Karl took over as the host for the remainder of the show's run on CHAN-TV.

Air Paris

After being signed to a deal with World Championship Wrestling in 2000, Parris, under his Air Paris name, debuted for the promotion alongside former NWA Wildside rival A.J. Styles (who was now going by the Air Styles name in that promotion at this time) on the February 14, 2001 episode of Thunder, where they lost to Evan Karagias and Jamie Noble.

Ari Romero

Romero enjoyed a good run in NWA, a run that saw him participate in his first tour of Japan, one of many to come, and also a tour of the Pacific Islands in Hawaii, New Zealand, Guam, Samoa, Fiji, Australia and Tonga for "High Chief" Peter Maivia.

Balderhead Reservoir

Under the Water Act 1973, ownership of the TVCWB's reservoirs, which included the three Baldersdale reservoirs and two others — Selset and Grassholme — on the River Lune a short distance to the north, was transferred to the Northumbrian Water Authority (NWA).

Ballydehob

He won the NWA World title from Jim Londos in Boston on 30 June 1935, and was known as the "Irish Whip" in celebration of his famous throwing technique.

Big Gold Belt

The Big Gold Belt was first introduced in 1985 to replace the original NWA World Heavyweight Championship belt of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) that had been used since 1973, historically known as the "domed globe." Jim Crockett Jr. of Jim Crockett Promotions commissioned Charles Crumrine, a silversmith in Reno, Nevada that specialized in western belt buckles, to produce it.

Bill Apter

Apter also hosted a TV segment, the PWI Scouting Report, on Best of World Championship Wrestling, Jim Crockett's NWA TV show broadcast weekly on Ted Turner's WTBS, as well as a stint with the nationally syndicated Pro Wrestling This Week TV news magazine, and segments on dozens of other televised wrestling shows.

Bob Caudle

Caudle was also an announcer for most of the early NWA/WCW pay per views and Clash of the Champions shows.

Slowly, the promotion grew away from the NWA and became WCW.

Carlos Colón, Sr.

On January 6, 1983, he defeated NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair in a "unification" match to win the title and also create the WWC Universal Heavyweight Title, but the match never made it to NWA television.

In subsequent interviews, Ric Flair has stated that the NWA Title was not on line for this match; Flair stated that the "unification" was proposed, but he vetoed it.

Continental Championship Wrestling

Heyman and ECW promoter Tod Gordon also later had problems with promoter Dennis Coraluzzo, this led to the infamous incident where former Continental rookie Shane Douglas threw down the NWA World Heavyweight Title to screw over Coraluzzo and make ECW more popular.

CWF Heavyweight Championship

The NWA Continental Heavyweight Championship was a major title in the National Wrestling Alliance's Alabama territory called Southeastern Championship Wrestling.

CWF Tag Team Championship

The NWA Southeastern Tag Team Championship was the major tag team title in the National Wrestling Alliance's Alabama territory known as Southeast Championship Wrestling.

Gary Steele

Returning to Great Britain, he became the first NWA United Kingdom Heavyweight Champion after defeating Johnny Moss in a tournament final at Telford Shropshire, England on November 2, 2001.

Hawai'i Championship Wrestling

Ricky Morton
