In June 2010 it was announced that manager Neil Aspin, a long time admirer of Vardy's talents, had signed him for F.C. Halifax Town.
Aspin also left the club at the end of the season, with 348 league appearances to his name, and even enjoyed a testimonial featuring Vale supporter Robbie Williams.
