No. 269 Squadron RAF

No. 269 Squadron was reformed at North Front, Gibraltar on 1 January 1952 from part of No. 224 Squadron and moved on 24 March to moved to RAF Ballykelly, Ulster, as a maritime reconnaissance unit equipped with Avro Shackleton patrol bombers.

No. 270 Squadron RAF

The main role was coastal reconnaissance which it continued to do until it was disbanded on 15 September 1919 when it was absorbed into 269 Squadron.
