The recording has now been re-released on the NMC label, and there have been six further productions of Golem since 1989: Opera Omaha, 1990; Northern Stage (UK Arts Council/Contemporary Music Network Tour), 1991; Theater Dortmund, 1994; Aspen Festival, 2000; Neue Operbühne Berlin 2001; Opéra de Rennes and Angers Nantes Opéra, 2006.
He has also served as a board member for Northern Arts, Northern Stage, NTC Touring Company, and, for some years, was on the Arts Council of England's New Theatre Writing Panel.
Northern Stage is a constituent member theatre of the Theatre Communications Group.
Recent productions include the first ever revival of Our Friends in the North, Lipsynch (a co-production with Robert Leapage), the first major UK adaptation of Angela Carter's The Bloody Chamber and updated versions of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House and John Osborne's Look Back in Anger.
He also performed at the Guilbenkian Theatre.

Since then a number of high-profile directors have worked for the company, including Ian Wooldridge (1978-1984), Ian Brown (1984-1988) now at West Yorkshire Playhouse, Alan Lyddiard who left TAG to become Artistic Director of Northern Stage Ensemble in Newcastle(1988-1992), and Tony Graham, now at the Unicorn Theatre in London (1992-1997).
