Veranis was born to first generation Italian immigrants Anthony Sr. and Theresa from Nuoro in Sardinia, Italy.
The town is situated in the Bay of Orosei on the east of the island and in the geographical region of Supramonte, 9 kilometers from Dorgali, 41 from Nuoro and 108 from Olbia.
His personal best jump is 8.40 metres, achieved on 14 July 2010 in Nuoro.
After a long series of crimes (among others the attack of the diligence Nuoro-Macomer), he took refuge in a cave in the Supramonte of Oliena (the cave is now named for him Cave Corbeddu).
It is connected by train (FdS) to Macomer and by bus (ARST, Azienda Regionale Sarda Trasporti) to Cagliari, Sassari, Olbia, and to several minor centres in the province and the region.

The name refers to the area of Logudoro (term originated as corrupt blending of the kingdom's name of Logu de Torres) in which it is spoken, a northern subregion of the island of Sardinia with close ties to Ozieri (Othieri) and Nuoro (Nùgoro) for culture and language, as well as history, with important particularities in the western area, where the most important town is Ittiri.
This freeway is connected to the Strada statale 131 Charles Felix, it links Abbasanta (a village near Oristano) with Olbia, via Nuoro, crossing the hinterland mountainous regions of the island.
