Ofelia M. Samar-Sy

Ofelia Manibog Samar-Sy, M.D., FPCP is a Filipino physician in Internal medicine and Cardiology, medical educator, researcher, businesswoman, and socio-civic leader, who is also deeply involved in humanitarian enterprises.

Along with Jay Jaboneta and Anton Mari H. Lim, she helped create the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation, and she was instrumental in helping the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation win the Liberal Project Award by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in November 2011.


Fort Smallwood Park

It is the location of Battery Hartshorne, named on November 18, 1902 in honor of Captain Benjamin M. Hartshorne, Jr., 7th U. S. Infantry, who was killed January 2, 1902, in action with insurgents near Lanang, Samar, Philippine Islands during the Philippine–American War.
