Bundesstraße 6

The former Reichsstraße 6 ran from Görlitz via Hirschberg and Schweidnitz to Breslau and from there via Oelsas far as the old Polish border near Groß Wartenberg.

Oleśnica

When the Podiebrad family became extinct in 1647, town and duchy were inherited by the Swabian dukes of Württemberg, and in 1792 by the Welf dukes of Brunswick-Lüneburg.

Oleśnica, Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship

Among them were Dobieslaw Oleśnicki, the castellan of Wojnicz, Lublin and Sandomierz, the starosta of Krakow, who participated in the Battle of Grunwald and commanded the siege of the Malbork Castle in 1410, and Cardinal Zbigniew Olesnicki, the Bishop of Krakow in 1423–1455, as well as many members of the Zborowski family.

Julius Siegmund, Duke of Württemberg-Juliusburg

Duke Julius Siegmund of Württemberg-Juliusburg (18 August 1653 in Oleśnica – 15 October 1684 in Dobroszyce) was Duke of Württemberg-Juliusburg.

Rudolf von Scheliha

Scheliha was born in Zessel, Oels, Silesia (now Cieśle, Gmina Oleśnica, Poland), as the son of a Prussian squire.
