Babu Thiruvalla as he is popularly known, entered into the Malayalam movie at an age of about 22 years (after working abroad for about half a decade) with eminent legends like Bharatan and the debut film Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam starred by eminent actors like Nedumudi Venu Sarada and paved way to the acting of Parvathy, Devan and many more were accepted well by all kinds of audience and bagged many awards.

Born to Malayalam writer and rationalist Pavanan and Parvathy, C. P. Surendran received his M.A. in English Literature from Delhi University, Delhi and taught for short while at Calicut University before working as journalist in Bombay for many English newspapers including the The Times of India, Times Sunday Review, Bombay Times besides others.
It is also believed that worshiping Shiva & Parvathy here gets one relieved of the evil effects of Rahu, Kethu and Mars, and also finalizes marriages.
