He played professionally in Brazil (Paysandu Sport Club) and Netherlands during his playing career, becoming the first Surinamese player to play professionally in the Netherlands in the process when he plying his trade for HFC Haarlem.
Paysandu attracted the world's attention in 2003 after the campaign in the Copa Libertadores, beating several traditional South American teams such as Cerro Porteño and Boca Juniors (at La Bombonera).
