John Williamson Nevin

He graduated at Union College in 1821; studied theology at Princeton Theological Seminary in 1823-1828, being in 1826-1828 in charge of the classes of Charles Hodge; was licensed to preach by the Carlisle Presbytery in 1828; and in 1830-1840 was professor of Biblical literature in the newly founded Western Theological Seminary (now Pittsburgh Theological Seminary) of Allegheny, Pennsylvania.


John A. Dalles

Among his commissioned hymns are those for Presbyterian Heritage Sunday (Praise God for Days Long Past), Augsburg College, Goshen College, Maryville College, Tusculum College, Wilson College and Knox College, University of Toronto, American University, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Lancaster Theological Seminary, the 250th anniversary of the city of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Peachtree Presbyterian Church and the Lutheran World Federation.

Paul J. Achtemeier

He was also Visiting Professor of New Testament at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Between 2002 and 2012, the congregation had as its senior pastor, the Rev. Dr. M. Craig Barnes, noted author and speaker, and professor at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, until his election as president of Princeton Theological Seminary.
