1976 Michigan Wolverines football team

Four days before the Wolverines lost to Purdue, the team's most famous alumnus lost the 1976 presidential election to Jimmy Carter.

1996 Purdue Boilermakers football team

Brian Alford received numerous post-season accolades including First Team All-Big Ten honors by both the coaches and the media, as well as breaking Purdue record for most receiving touchdowns in a single season.

1997 Alamo Bowl

Purdue responded with an 18 yard touchdown pass from Billy Dicken, to take a 7-3 lead.

In the second half, quarterback Billy Dicken rushed 1 yard for a touchdown increasing Purdue's lead to 17-6.

2003 Purdue Boilermakers football team

Despite being dominated, Purdue had a chance to seize momentum late in the first half when the Boilers recovered a fumble from a Shaun Phillips sack of Michigan QB John Navarre.

Notwithstanding the late rally, Purdue's defense had another fine performance, as it held terrific Iowa RB Fred Russell to 35 yards rushing on 18 carries, and sacked Chandler 4 times.

Purdue's senior-laden defense battered freshman QB Brady Quinn in his first college start with many QB ppressures, knockdowns, and forcing 4 interceptions (FS Stuart Schweigert had 2 picks).

2006 Miami RedHawks football team

Purdue beat Miami by a score of 38-31 when the RedHawks failed score a touchdown in overtime after the Boilermaker’s Kory Sheets scored the game-winning touchdowns in their overtime possession.

Andrew H. Bobeck

He received an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree from Purdue in 1972, the 1971 Baker Prize, the Franklin Institute's 1973 Stuart Ballantine Medal, the 1975 IEEE Morris N. Liebmann Memorial Award, and the 1987 IEEE Magnetics Society Achievement Award.
