In 2002, it was reported that Martin Scorsese was to produce a film adaptation of Cloudsplitter, to be directed by Raoul Peck, for the film production company HBO.
During a broadcast on HBO of the film Lumumba, directed by Raoul Peck, Carlucci's name was bleeped and removed from the credits due to the threat of a lawsuit.
Peck attended schools in the DRC (Léopoldville), in the United States (Brooklyn), and in France (Orléans), where he earned a baccalaureate, before studying industrial engineering and economics at Berlin's Humboldt University.
