Red Island Minerals Ltd (RIM) is a Perth-based coal development company founded by Sam Malin (who is also project originator), along with others, to develop the Sakoa, Sakamena and adjacent coal fields in southwestern Madagascar.
The vast majority of licenses of commercial value are held by Madagascar Consolidated Mining, a subsidiary of Red Island Minerals, founded by Sam Malin, which is appraising and developing the resources of the field.
