Red Star Line

In the city of Antwerp, the former warehouses of the Red Star Line were recently landmarked and reopened as a museum on September 28, 2013 by the City of Antwerp.

The works of art of the Red Star Line emigrants made by the Antwerp artist Eugeen Van Mieghem (1875-1930) will be exhibited there, next to Red Star Line memorabilia of the collection of Robert Vervoort.

SS Abbotsford

The SS Abbotsford was a brig-rigged iron passenger ship built by the Gourlay Brothers of Dundee for the Red Star Line, of Antwerp.

SS Belgic

SS Belgic (III) was launched as the freighter "SS Mississippi" on the 15 Dec 1902 for Atlantic Transport Line and transferred on 7 July 1906 to the Red Star Line as "SS Samland" .

In December 1913 she returned to the Red Star Line as "SS Samland" for North Atlantic cargo sailings.


SS Merion

She also sailed for the Red Star Line and the Dominion Line—both subsidiary lines of IMM—during her passenger career.
