Gregory H. Johnson

Johnson received his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in May 1984 and attended pilot training at Reese Air Force Base, Texas.

Pamela Melroy

After completing a master’s degree, she attended Undergraduate Pilot Training at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas and was graduated in 1985.

Reese Air Force Base

Currently, the city of Lubbock has designated it as a research and business park named Reese Technology Center.

During the post-war years, the base was used as a meeting place for National Guard, Air Reserve, and Naval Reserve units.

There is an office of the police academy there, and South Plains College uses some of the facilities for classes.

The base was closed 30 September 1997 after being selected for closure by the Base Realignment and Closure Commission in 1995 and is now a research and business park called Reese Technology Center.

He completed his basic pilot training at Marana, Arizona, and advanced training at Reese Air Force Base, Texas, where he received his pilot wings in August 1953.
