The intention was to acquire a retail business to take advantage of the retailing skills of Norman (the former Chairman of Asda) and Richer, who had built up the dynamic retail group Richer Sounds.
The business is 100% owned by Julian Richer, the founder and managing director of the company.

Richer Sounds generally enjoys UK-wide coverage though there are no representative stores in regional/sizeable population centres such as Aberdeen, Bradford, Coventry, Northampton, Ipswich and Swindon.

However, Richer Sounds does not own Audio Partnership (although Julian Richer, the owner of Richer Sounds, co-founded and owns 51% of Audio Partnership), and other distributors are responsible for the distribution of Audio Partnership products outside the UK.
