1889 College Football All-America Team

Roscoe Channing (1868-1961): Princeton's halfback Channing later served with Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders in the Spanish American War.

1890 College Football All-America Team

Harvard's quarterback Dudley Dean enlisted in Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders and was decorated for his role in the Battle of San Juan Hill.

Catasauqua High School

The Catasauqua High School mascot is the Rough Rider and the athletic teams are colloquially referred to as the “Roughies.” The school colors are brown and white, with gold sometimes used as an accentuating third color.
