The most recently elected member, in 2011, is the Australian comedian Barry Humphries.


Alexander Balloch Grosart

From the Townley Hall collection he reprinted several manuscripts and edited Sir John Eliot's works, Sir Richard Boyle's Lismore Papers, and various publications for the Chetham Society, the Camden Society and the Roxburghe Club.

Joseph Stevenson

All this time he was constantly editing ancient texts: for the Maitland Club, Glasgow, eight volumes (1833–42); for the English Historical Society, five volumes (1838–41); for the Roxburghe Club, four volumes; for the Surtees Society, seven volumes, with eight volumes of The Church Historians of England.
