Almami Samori da Silva Moreira (born 16 June 1978) is a Guinea-Bissauan professional footballer who plays for Atlético Clube de Portugal as a midfielder.
Prominent buildings include the house used by French explorer Binger, Samori's headquarters, the old market building which houses the "Bondoukou Museum of Art and Traditions" ("Musée des Arts et des Traditions"), and the Limamisso and Kamagaya mosques.
Samori overthrew the older Wassoulou state of Fama Dyanabufarina Modi in 1870, and expanded his empire from there, taking the Wassoulou name.
The Wassoulou Empire, sometimes referred to as the Mandinka Empire, was a short-lived (1878–1898) empire of West Africa built from the conquests of Dyula ruler Samori Touré and destroyed by the French colonial army.
