Before her Hit Parade years, Wilson sang with the Skitch Henderson and Les Brown orchestras.
Upon leaving the service in 1945 he came to New York and signed with CBS as a staff conductor-arranger, doing script-show music, background music for radio dramas, and conducting the Skitch Henderson orchestra.
A left-handed drummer, Levey has played on over thousands of recordings, including those with musicians Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and with bands such as that of Quincy Jones, and Skitch Henderson and The Tonight Show Band.
The announcer of the show was Gene Rayburn (who wouild eventually become a top-game show emcee, hosting "Match Game") and the bandleader was Skitch Henderson.
