The squadron moved to Spangdahlem Air Base, West Germany in May 1953 where all of the elements of the parent 10th TRW were assembled at one base.

Although Bitburg Middle-High School is located at the Bitburg Air Base housing complex, many of the students that attend this school live at the Spangdahlem Air Base or villages in the surrounding areas.
