The album was produced by Calum Malcolm, best known for his work with The Blue Nile, and had similar production values to The Blue Nile's first two albums.
Although traditional account is that Gelawdewos retreated as far south as Shewa, C.F. Beckingham has produced evidence showing that the Ethiopian Emperor fled far to the south, over the Abay River into Gojjam, then back over the Abay to eventually reach Gindabret, "lying south of the most southerly reaches of the Blue Nile", sometime after 26 May.
It is bordered by the Nile from Khartoum to Atbarah, by the Atbarah River from Atbarah to Ethiopia, by the Ethiopian border from the Atbarah River to the Blue Nile, and by the Blue Nile from Ethiopia to Khartoum.
This francolin is endemic to Ethiopia, having a range restricted to the Ethiopian highlands on either side of the Blue Nile river between Lake Tana and its confluence with the Jamma River, as well as its tributaries between these points.
Below Renk the White Nile enters Sudan, it flows north to Khartoum and meets the Blue Nile.
In March 2012, Rabbi Gutow was arrested with actor George Clooney, NAACP President Ben Jealous, Representatives Jim McGovern and Jim Moran, and others at a protest outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, DC calling on the US to ensure delivery of humanitarian aid to the Blue Nile and Nuba Mountain regions.

Sudan is also planning on building the Merowe Dam south of the Kajbar and enlarging the Roseires Dam, located 300 miles southeast of Khartoum on the Blue Nile.
