His next known appearances were with Glass Menagerie, In 1970, he joined the bluesy progressive rock band Toe Fat who had released one album called Toe Fat.

Jonathan Peel (not the DJ) produced Toe Fat 2, after hearing them on several BBC radio sessions, including one for Terry Wogan.

After the first album, Kerslake and Hensley were replaced by Brian Glascock (drums) and Alan Kendall (guitar) respectively.
