Akçaabat meatballs is a grilled dish of minced meat, a type of kebab, found traditionally in the Akçaabat, Trabzon, Turkey .
In the years 1911-1915 he served as Italian Consul in the provinces of Trabzon, Erzurum, Van, Bitlis, and Sivas.
This species is known only from the type locality ("Prov. Trabzon, FF 03, 2 km SW Of").
The province was a site of major fighting between Ottoman and Russian forces during the Caucasus Campaign of World War I, which resulted in the capture of the city of Trabzon by the Russian army under command of Grand Duke Nicholas and Nikolai Yudenich in April 1916.
