He started his professional career as a trainee with Crystal Palace but after an unsuccessful spell moved to play for Colchester United, Montreal Impact, Zultse VV, Seattle Sounders, Brentford, Vancouver 86ers, Airdrieonians, Bay Area Seals, Wycombe Wanderers, Montreal Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps.
Local Vancouver Island players in the 1990 team included John Hughes, David Ravenhill, Ian Bridge, Dallas Moen, Frank Woods, Ken Andrews, Rick Jaskens, and Ron Budisa, all of whom played at Royal Athletic Park in a four team tournament in either 1991 or 1992 against Vancouver 86ers, Dundee United FC, and a Chelsea FC line-up which included Welsh international and later actor Vinnie Jones.
