In both the North and South Galleries next to the Central Pavilion are vedutes of Bavarian castles.
This genre of landscape originated in Flanders, where artists such as Paul Brill painted vedute as early as the 16th century.

Some of his veduta are of Aranjuez in Spain, where he went to paint scenery sets for the Reales Coliseos theater held in the Palacio Real de Aranjuez for the delight of Ferdinand VI.
In 1880, he exhibited at Turin Giorno che fu, and at the 1883 Exhibition of Rome, he exhibited a Veduta of Gressoney.
