He died several months later and was succeeded in Staritsa by his son Vladimir.
She was the daughter of Prince Vladimir of Staritsa and his wife, Princess Eudoxia Romanovna Odoevskaya, and, through her father, descended from Zoe Palaiologina (being her last known descendant).
