Although there has been no official announcement as to whether or not the band will continue performing or recording in the near future, the song "Subway Killer" later appeared as a bonus track on the Cherry Poppin' Daddies' 2013 album White Teeth, Black Thoughts, re-written in a rockabilly style.

A collection of faithful covers of songs by members of the Rat Pack, Please Return the Evening is the only Daddies album not to feature original music by lead singer-songwriter Steve Perry, and the band's second studio album to focus exclusively on traditional swing and jazz music following the single-disc release of 2013's White Teeth, Black Thoughts, eschewing the ska, rock and pop influences which typically feature in their music.
