During Wonders of the Solar System, a TV programme by the BBC, the physicist Brian Cox said "Despite the fact that astrology is a load of rubbish, Jupiter can in fact have a profound influence on our planet. And it’s through a force . . . gravity."
Brian Cox's BBC series Wonders of the Solar System saw a scientist examining snottites in the caves and positing that if there is life on Mars, it may be similarly primitive and hidden beneath the surface of the Red Planet.
He provided general astronomical advice for the BBC Wonders of the Solar System series and acted as astronomical consultant for the BBC Stargazing Live (programme and "Learning") series aired in early January 2011.
