Pinang Xi Shi is a profession particular to Taiwan, undertaken by scantily dressed, young females on the roadside displaying their bodies while selling Areca catechu.
For a brief period, the roads in the estate were named after Xi Shi, Wang Zhaojun, Diaochan and Yang Guifei, the legendary Four Beauties in Chinese history.
Since the West Lake at Hangzhou was believed to be the legendary incarnation of Xi Shi, thus it is also called Xizi Hu (lake).
