In 2012 he participated in the chamber music festival of the Kronberg Academy “Chamber Music Connects the World”, where he performed together with renowned artists such as Gidon Kremer, Yuri Bashmet and Christian Tetzlaff.
Championed internationally by the likes of Dennis Russell Davies, Jansug Kakhidze, Gidon Kremer, Yuri Bashmet, Kim Kashkashian, Mstislav Rostropovich, and the Kronos Quartet, Kancheli has seen world premieres of his works in Seattle, as well as with the New York Philharmonic under Kurt Masur.
Tchivzhel has performed with many great artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Emanuel Ax, Vladimir Spivakov, Gidon Kremer, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, André Watts, János Starker, Gil Shaham, Olga Kern, Nicolai Demidenko, Joshua Bell, Bella Davidovich, Yuri Bashmet, Evelyn Glennie, Pete Fountain, Sharon Isbin, and Doc Severinsen.
Among his collaborators in performances and recordings are soprano, Renée Fleming; mezzo-sopranos, Cecilia Bartoli and Angelika Kirchschlager; violist, Yuri Bashmet; violinists Joshua Bell and Julia Fischer; cellists, Truls Mørk, Daniel Müller-Schott, and Gautier Capuçon, and the Rossetti String Quartet.
He has appeared with many well-known conductors including Ukrianian Oleh Krysa and Oleksandr Bondurianskyi and the Russian conductors Valentin Berlinsky, Vladimir Ponkin, Vladimir Repin, Yuri Bashmet, and Maxim Vengerov.
He is laureate of the Shostakovich Prize, awarded by the Yuri Bashmet International Charitable Foundation, and the Glinka State Prize of the RSFSR (1981) (other recipients include the Borodin Quartet and composer Valery Gavrilin), and recently was awarded "the Order of Service to the Fatherland" by President Vladimir Putin.
In 2001 the first night of The Songs of Jewish Shtetle was held at the Novaya Opera theatre in Moscow under the patronage of the International Charity Fund of Yuri Bashmet.
