Matthew 27:9-10

One immediate complication with this verse is that if it is quoting Zechariah, why does the author attributes it to Jeremiah?

Zakaryan

Zakaryan (in Armenian Զաքարյան), also written Zakarian (in Western Armenian Զաքարեան) is an Armenian surname, originating from the patronymic Armenian equivalent of Zechariah.


Ardsley, New York

He had named Ardsley Park after the English birthplace of his immigrant ancestor, Zechariah Field (East Ardsley, West Riding of Yorkshire, England), who immigrated to the U.S. in 1629.

According to Zechariah 1:7-16, "On the 24th day of the 11th month, which is the month of Shevat, in the second year of the reign of Darius, the word of God came to Zachariah the son of Berechiah the son of Ido the prophet, saying: '...I will return to Jerusalem in mercy, my house will be built within her" This was two years before the completion of the Second Temple on the 3rd of Adar, 515 BCE.

Rav Nachman concluded that the term “former prophets” referred to a period before Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi, who were latter prophets.

Zechariah Mendel ben Aryeh Leib (died 1791) (Hebrew: זכריה מנדל בן אריה ליב) was a Galician and German preacher and scholar born at Podhaice in the early part of the 18th century.

Zerubbabel

Though conventional wisdom often understood it to be Zerubbabel and Joshua, Boda argues that, because of the important role that prophets were said to play in the reconstruction of the Temple in Zech 8.9, Haggai and Zechariah are the sons of oil.
