Chellah was a significant ancient port city town with remains including the Decumanus Maximus, or principal way, as well as those of a forum, a monumental fountain, a triumphal arch, and other Roman ruins.
In the ancient Roman city of Barcino (present day Barcelona, Spain), the Decumanus Maximus started at the Roman gate in front of the current Plaça Nova square, which is the only Roman gate extant.
