Black Reichswehr

Though constantly denied by the Reichswehr supreme command and the Ministry of Defence, Black Reichswehr forces served in sabotage acts and assaults during the French Occupation of the Ruhr and were responsible for several feme murders.

Occupation of the Ruhr

When on 12 July 1922, Germany demanded a moratorium on reparation payments, tension developed between the French government of Raymond Poincaré and the Coalition government of David Lloyd George.

During the occupation of the Ruhr in 1923, members of the Organization Heinz of Albert Leo Schlageter carried out attacks with bombs, including at Hügel station, to obstruct the transport of coal to France.
