He then attended Williams College where he was graduated as valedictorian with Phi Beta Kappa honors, was a member of The Kappa Alpha Society, and served as president of the Gargoyle Society.
He was schooled at St. Andrew's College in Aurora, Ontario and graduated from the University of Toronto in mechanical engineering in 1906, where he had been a member of The Kappa Alpha Society along with his friend Frederick W. Baldwin.
He studied at St. Andrew's School and Williams College, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Society.
