In the 60s, he received more attention and success as a composer (including a second scholarship to the Villa Massimo in 1963 and a fellowship in the Berlin Academy of the Arts), especially after his opera Die Soldaten (The Soldiers) finally premiered in 1965.
In the 1920s some of his work was exhibited at the Akademie der Künste along with that of his contemporaries Otto Dix and George Grosz.
Her awards include the Busoni Prize of the Berlin Academy of the Arts, the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize for composition, the Paul Hindemith Prize of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, and the composition prize of the ARD.
The first performance took place from 8:30 to 11:30pm on 5 June 1971, in the Englischer Garten of the Tiergarten, Berlin, near the Akademie der Künste (Stockhausen 1978, 170, 174).
In 2008, he taught a film class at the Staatliche Akademie der Künste Stuttgart.
