Here another important piece was created for his series on the history of German poetry, From Opitz to Klopstock, as well as numerous biographies and monographs, especially on Dutch painters, for Robert Dohme's Kunst und Künstler and the Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie.
The Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie states that it was eine mit zwei zinnengekrönten Eckthürmen besetzte Mauer; im Eckthurme rechts drei Bogenfenster (1 über 2); im Thurm links ein Bogenfenster; unter demselben in der Mauer eine nach links auswärts geöffnet stehende Bogenthüre.
The work was conceived in 1925, to follow the model of similar works such as the German Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie (1912, 56 volumes) or the English Dictionary of National Biography, from 2004 the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (60 volumes).

Rochus Wilhelm Traugott Heinrich Ferdinand Freiherr von Liliencron (b. 8 December 1820 in Plön, d. 5 March 1912 in Koblenz) was a Germanist and historian, known for his collection of German Volkslieder (folk songs), published in five volumes in 1865-1869, and as the editor of the biographical reference work Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie, published 1875-1912.
