The vegetation found in the state is largely of dry deciduous type with a mixture of Teak, and species of the genera Terminalia, Dalbergias, Pterocarpus, Anogeissus etc.
A. pendula, known as kardhai or dhok, is common in the Kathiarbar-Gir dry deciduous forests of western India, where it often forms pure stands in the rocky ridges of the Aravalli Range.
In Yemen it has been recorded in spurge (Euphorbia) scrub and woodland of acacias (Acacia) and junipers (Juniperus), while in the wooded Mahrah it is primarily found in Anogeissus/Commiphora woodland.
A rare tree elsewhere, the dhauro (Anogeissus sericea var. nummularia), a small brown-barked tree with drooping branches and yellow flowers which has a winged fruit in the spring, has a fine stand of healthy trees in Bawadi Taluk.
