A number of local drivers joined the field for the race, Jo Merszei joined Liqui Moly Team Engstler in a naturally aspirated BMW 320si previously run in 2012 by Masaki Kano and Alex Liu.
They will team up with the Macau-based RPM Racing Team, whose owner Lei Kit Meng will drive a BMW 320si at the 2009 FIA WTCC Race of Macau, the final round of the 2009 World Touring Car Championship season.
O'Brien enjoyed racing in Denmark and had a succsefull end to the championship finishing with two podiums and third place in the Valvoline Finale just behind series champions Jan Magnussen and Michel Nykjaer, O'Brien was representing Coca-Cola in Denmark and carried the striking livery of the Burn Energy brand on his BMW 320si.
The BMW 320 TC is the further development of the BMW 320si WTCC, with which Andy Priaulx won the World Touring Car Championship for BMW in 2006 and 2007.
