Ambrose Dyson

Ambrose Dyson (1876 – 3 June 1913), often known as Amb Dyson was an Australian illustrator and political cartoonist, born at Alfredton, near Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, the son of George Dyson, then a hawker and later a mining engineer, and his wife Jane, née Mayall.

Archibald Fisken

He attended E.N. Maryatt's Church of England Grammar School for Boys, Ballarat College and Geelong Church of England Grammar School before his 1916 commission in the Royal Field Artillery.

Archibald Stewart

He helped found the Ballarat branch of the Labor Party in 1902 and was its secretary from 1905 to 1906; he was involved in James Scullin's ultimately unsuccessful attempt to unseat Alfred Deakin at the 1906 federal election.

Canberra Bushrangers

Charles Anthony Corbett Wilson

He arrived in Victoria on 10 August 1851 abord the Troubadour, attracted to the gold diggings at Golden Point, and although ultimately unsuccessful in this venture, he left Ballarat and practised as a surveyor in Geelong, and subsequently went on to have one of the longest careers of any engineer in Victoria, and was responsible for a number of important engineering works.
