Carla Lane, OBE (born Romana Barrack, 5 August 1937) is an English television writer responsible for many sitcoms, including The Liver Birds (1969–78), Butterflies (1978–82), and Bread (1986–91).
He also appeared as Father Dooley, a Catholic priest, in several episodes of Carla Lane's Bread, probably his last television appearance.
Joanna Phillips-Lane is a British actress who among other parts, played the character Roxy in Carla Lane's sitcom Bread.
Viewed as a cause célèbre within the global animal rights movement, he has acted as a spokesman for the ALF, attracting the support of celebrities such as Carla Lane and Celia Hammond.

Victor McGuire (born 17 March 1964) is an English actor currently playing the Valco security guard in Trollied but is perhaps best known for playing Jack in series 1–3,5-7 of Carla Lane's Bread, Ron Wheatcroft in Goodnight Sweetheart, and Sean Hughes' neighbour Tony in Sean's Show ("the kind of guy you can ask to build you a shed").
