Civil Air Patrol is a congressionally chartered, non-profit corporation and is the civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force available to any department or agency in any branch of the Federal Government.
The District of Columbia Defense Force, for example, is a member of the Citizen Corps and supports assorted mission assigned by the District of Columbia.
