François Leperlier (born 1949) is a French writer, essayist, poet, philosopher and art historian, known especially for his work on the surrealist writer and photographer Claude Cahun.
In 2000 she completed a Ph.D. on the writer Hilda Doolittle and the artist Claude Cahun, and in 2003 received a Leverhulme research fellowship for her writings on poetics, visual theory and semiotics.
Prominent in this important lineage of artists are Claude Cahun, Eleanor Antin, Martha Wilson, and Cindy Sherman.
