New stations will be built at the Ricoh Arena and Bermuda Park while the platforms at Bedworth will be lengthened, the service frequency will also be upgraded from hourly to half hourly.
It is served by three railway lines; the Trent Valley section of the West Coast Main Line, the Birmingham-Leicester-Peterborough Line and the Nuneaton to Coventry branch line.

The station is on the Birmingham loop of the West Coast Main Line (WCML), and is at the centre of a junction where the lines to Nuneaton, and to Leamington converge.
