Toodyay, Western Australia

Historically Newcastle was connected to the WAGR network by a line that left the Eastern Railway at Clackline, which then travelled through Western Toodyay to proceed to Bolgart and then on to Miling.


A. O. Neville

Neville was a notable resident of Darlington and was a regular user of the Eastern Railway which closed a few months before his death.

Howrah railway station

The station is served by the Eastern Railway for local trains to Belur Math, Tarakeswar, Katwa, Bandel, Sheoraphuli, Bardhaman and numerous intermediate stations (see Main Line, Chord and Tarakeswar branch line); and mail/express trains to Central, North and North-East India.

Laa an der Thaya

It had remained a sedate county town, when Napoleon marched through in 1809 during the War of the Fifth Coalition; however, Laa's development was decisively promtoted by the opening of a railway connection to Austria's capital Vienna in 1869, a branch line of the Eastern Railway, which further led to Hevlín and Brno (Brünn) in Moravia.

Rafiganj train disaster
