Duffy appeared in Ethan Dettenmaier's film, Sin-Jin Smyth, which was filmed in 2006, but remains unreleased.

In 2005, he appeared in the movie Dead Calling, and in 2007 he appeared as a Sheriff in Ethan Dettenmaier's forthcoming film, Sin-Jin Smyth, and in the film Methodic in a role which paid homage to his character in Halloween.

Ethan Dettenmaier

Dettenmaier made his filmmaking debut with the horror film Sin-Jin Smyth, which began filming in 2006 and had guitarist Billy Duffy (The Cult) set to do some guitar work.

In terms of writing, Dettenmaier is currently developing a novel under the title Soldiers of Destruction along with a biography project involving former Simple Minds' bassist Derek Forbes (who was voted Scotland's Best Bass Player Ever) and drummer Brian McGee.

After starting out in the mail room at Warner Bros., he landed a position with Bel-Air Productions and Producer Steven Reuther (Face Off, Pretty Woman) He went on to become a script doctor for Idiom Films and has since scripted work for Steven Seagal, Dark Horse Comics, producer Paul DeSouza and Jon Divens.
