A processional way leads up the mountain in the form of a Z and passes three sites which its discoverer Friedrich Karl Dörner marked as Sites I–III.
Lähnemann is the daughter of the theologian Johannes Lähnemann, and the granddaughter of the German medievalist Eleonore Dörner (née Benary) and the archeologist Friedrich Karl Dörner; she grew up in Lüneburg and Nuremberg, Germany.
The main excavations on the site were carried out by Friedrich Karl Dörner of the University of Münster.
He participated in excavations in Alzey, under the direction of Wilhelm Unverzagt, in the Kerameikos in Athens ( Dieter Oly and Gottfried Gruben ), in Persia ( Heinz Luschey ), Bithynia and in Commagene (Friedrich Karl Dörner).
