During the 1980s, he emigrated to the United States, and in 1989, Guarraci was inducted into the crime family during a ceremony led by John Riggi himself, according to Vincent "Vinny Ocean" Palermo, who turned state's evidence in 2000.

In early 2007, it was confirmed that after the convictions of Consigliere Stefano "Steve the Truck Driver" Vitabile and Girolamo "Jimmy" Palermo from 2003 to 2006, Guarraci was promoted to "acting boss" along with Underboss, Joseph "Joe" Miranda, to run the day-to-day activities of the DeCavalcante crime family on behalf of the imprisoned Riggi.
But with the evaluation of Majur's rival Giovanni "John the Eagle" Riggi as the new boss upon DeCavalcante's retirement in the mid-1970s, Majuri was replaced with Riggi's underling Stefano "Steve the Truck Driver" Vitabile as new acting consigliere.
As Giovanni Riggi kept running the DeCavalcante family in the late 1970s, Polizzi was involved in large heroin and cocaine distribution and transportation operations.

After being promoted Caporegime during the 1980s by Giovanni "John the Eagle" Riggi, D'Amato became heavily involved in large labor and construction racketeering operations with prominent New Jersey mobsters Giacomo "Jake" Amari and Girolamo "Jimmy" Palermo.
A longtime "soldier" to Simone "Sam the Plumber" DeCavalcante and later boss Giovanni Riggi, he became acting Underboss for Girolamo "Jimmy" Palermo following the imprisonment of many high-ranking members in 2003.

Joseph Miranda served as a made man and loan shark under both founder Simone "Sam the Plumber" DeCavalcante and Giovanni "John the Eagle" Riggi during the 1960s and mid-1970s.
After Sam DeCavalcante and LaRasso were sent to prison due to federal authorities monitoring conversations between DeCavalcante and LaRasso discussing illegal gambling operations worth more than $20 million a year, Giovanni "John the Eagle" Riggi, LaRasso's rival, stepped up as Acting boss while DeCavalcante and LaRasso were imprisoned for 5 years.
In 1980, DeCavalcante retired as boss and passed control of the family to Giovanni "John the Eagle" Riggi.
