DRUM! Magazine

Prior to starting DRUM!, Andy Doerschuk was the founding editor of Drums & Drumming Magazine, a short-lived publication that was part of GPI/Miller Freeman, the publishers of Guitar Player, Bass Player and other magazines in the late '80s and early '90s.

Guitar Player

It has been in print since the late 1960s and during the 1980s, under editor Tom Wheeler, the publication was influential in the rise of the vintage guitar market.

Guitar Player has a yearly competition now called Guitar Superstar, which used to be the "Guitar Hero Competition".
