In 2008, he was commissioned by HIT Entertainment to compose the music for series 6, 7, 8 and the feature film of the classic kids TV series Fireman Sam.
HiT which has been looking for an acquisition for a while began talks with Thomas the Tank Engine owner, Britt Allcroft early that year, but fell apart as they could not agree on a price.

The rights to Captain Pugwash were purchased by HIT Entertainment, who since 1997 have issued a number of digital and part computer-animated cartoon films based on the Pugwash character, set on the island of "Montebuffo", "somewhere in the Spanish Main".
It went on-air in May 2005 with team members Matt Deegan, Gregory Watson, John Hirst and Jenny Nelson from GCap Media, Vici Woolgar and Chris Skala from Hit Entertainment and advisors Susan Stranks and David Kingsley.
